Music and poetry usher us into profound awareness of the One—the breath within our breath, the Life of our life. This afternoon concert and reading traverses the terrain of the heart, inviting discovery of Life’s abundant grace. Yogacharya O’Brian will read from her award-winning book of poems, The Moon Reminded Me as well as offer some new work. David, Elaine, and John will share their soul-stirring music.  Come. Remember the extravagant mercy and beauty of your life.

Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian is a poet, teacher, writer, and the spiritual director of Center for Spiritual Enlightenment. Her new book of poems, The Moon Reminded Me, published by Homebound Publications, was selected as Finalist in their 2016 Poetry Prize.
David Rhodes is a composer, arranger, and performer, who draws on his classical piano training, work with classical, jazz, fusion, rock and folk groups, study of world music traditions at SJSU, the bhakti of kirtan and the ecstasy of zhikr. India's spiritual traditions and music have been a deep and abiding source of inspiration for him.  David's recordings include the critically acclaimed “Traces of Eden,” “Fluid Days,” “Moonbirds” and "Elaine Kreston and David Rhodes Live.”
Cellist Elaine Kreston has performed throughout the USA and Europe, with rock stars and Krishna Das, and has been featured in broadcasts on NPR and KPFA. She is a founding member of the classical Maybeck Trio, and RumiCello: a collaboration that beautifully mingles the poetry of Rumi with the sounds of the cello. Elaine has recorded with numerous artists, contributed to movie scores, and has released a CD with Translucent.

His writing has been published in many magazines, including The Sun, ascent, Shambhala Sun, Sojourners, Namarupa, adbusters, Punk Planet and Ode.
