Doing sadhana is like carrying a lamp into the dark night of our unconscious life. It reveals what is already there. It’s easier to ignore the clutter of self-will and attachments that collect in our life if we do not bring the light to them. When we see what is there, we can begin a new way of living.

Love for God is the antidote for the suffering that comes from attachment to things. Detaching from desires can be an austerity practiced with great effort and resolve, or it can happen effortlessly like the wave returning to the ocean.

The nature of thought is to divide, to compare one thing against another. Love unifies. God is One and free of “other.” Therefore, God can never be known through thought. Only undivided love reveals God’s presence.
