Release the false sense of self as the owner of things or the doer of actions. Realize that life is a play of consciousness in which the sense of separate self is an illusion. We exist as expressions of the one infinite field of divine consciousness.

In any moment, we can return to joy by moving from our head to our heart--from ego-centered thought (I, me, mine) to the deeper center of being. Practice divine communion and know God is your life.

When we return our conscious awareness to God, to our ever-present spiritual nature, we partake of the joy that the conscious contact with God brings. Joy is the link between God and the soul.

Any time we come to our spiritual practice for some reason--to find peace, to get enlightened, or to solve a problem--it is contrary to the true spirit of meditation. Such thoughts are about the future. Meditation is now, a radical return to joy now.

Faith is necessary. One must believe in the promise of freedom because the spiritual way of life requires us to swim against the current of conformity-the message of the world that says that material possessions, fame, and relationships will bring us happiness and security. We must be interested in seeking another way to break free from this illusion.

Thinking mind works with ego to create a separate identity that covers the true freedom of the soul. Meditation practice is necessary to free us from this bondage.

Be free from small thinking. Lose the word "can't" and all that is associated with it. Live in divine possibility. The promise that "with God all things are possible"includes right where we are right now.
