Notice the emphasis placed on listening in the spiritual traditions-Krishna tells Arjuna, "Listen to my Supreme Word." Jesus says, "My sheep will hear my voice." The sacred Jewish prayer begins, "Hear O Israel." What is it to listen, to hear and become receptive, a vessel, an opening? Listen.

Our ability to surrender to God is directly related to mental and emotional maturity and a strong foundation of spiritual practice. Surrender can happen in a moment, but living a surrendered life is another matter. Take steps.
