When the restless tendency in nature is dominant in our life, the mind is judgmental and critical, always looking for something that needs "doing" and never experiencing satisfaction. To calm this restless tendency in the midst of being active, one must see all as God's plan and let go of attachment to outcomes.

The deadening tendency in nature leads one to indulge the senses--to overeat and oversleep until one is bound, addicted, a slave to desire. The restless tendency in nature leads one to constantly seek activity and to desire success. The elevating tendency leads one to desire peace.
