Study must be combined with meditation, contemplation, and application. To gather information without reflection and putting into practice what one has learned is like eating too much without properly digesting the food. The body cannot use it and soon it poisons the system, even if what was taken in was nutritious to begin with.

Reading too much without contemplation, meditation and putting into practice--eating too much without mindful awareness, proper digestion, and exercise--talking too much without listening--are all forms of greed. Read less, eat less, and talk less. Meditate, contemplate, be mindful, digest, and listen.

The teacher's grace helps the seeker to discover God's grace. Ultimately, however, one's own grace is required for liberation. Those who are willing to thrive, to live their lives to their fullest potential, invite into their life the activity of grace in its three aspects--as God, as the teacher, and as one's own true Self.
