Those who are spiritually awake realize that there is one focus and purpose for life and one only. That purpose is the realization of the Indwelling Divine Self. This is the key to being in the world but not "of it." Everything that we do, we do for God-realization.

At the core of our being, we are already divine. There is no need for spiritual practices for the sake of creating a spiritual condition. Spiritual practices merely clear away the obstructions to perceiving the truth of who we are.

Devotees on the spiritual path who cling to their rules and rituals without clearing the heart of greed, attachment, and pride suffer when they do not get the results they are seeking. Even spiritual work is to be given up to God as an offering without expectation of return.
