"The spine and the brain are the altars of God."
—Paramahansa Yogananda
The word “restore” means to bring back, or return to, a former or original state. This practice provides an opportunity to connect with the inherent stillness always present within you. The restorative postures presented in this class will be
sequenced for awakening, balancing and harmonizing the subtle and vital energy in the spine, working from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. This practice is an antidote for physical and mental tension. Restorative yoga helps to relieve
the effects of chronic stress. Props are utilized to support the body and safely assist; you simply rest, in poses that allow for deep, yet gentle release and relaxation. This is a practice of “being” yoga.
Suzette Shakti Pangrle, PhD completed her Yoga Teacher Training at CSE in 2008 and is a RYT-200 yoga instructor. She is a CSE Meru Institute graduate with an emphasis in Yoga Studies. After working in Silicon Valley over
the past 20 years, Shakti understands the need to consciously bring balance to life, and is passionate about sharing yoga with others, as a support for a having healthy, balanced lifestyle.
