When work is understood as service the questions of right livelihood are more easily answered. Service contributes to the welfare of others, to peace, and to the repair and healing of the world. Any vocation that is contrary to these cannot be called right livelihood.

We must do everything as if we are demonstrating the teachings to those around us, for indeed we are. Even when we are alone, we are studied by conscience.

Actions in the world are an expression of the forces of nature. It is possible to observe these forces without identifying with them. Imagining oneself as the doer of action is like a bicyclist on the downhill slope who continues to pedal.

When the senses are purified through spiritual practice the self serving of the ego gives way to the experience of awe. When we are free of the desire to possess the beauty we experience we can experience it with radical amazement.
