Look upon all equally. Seeing the one life in all is recognizing the body of God. As our own body has different parts but belongs to one organism, so the divine life has many separate parts, making up the spiritual vision we experience as life.

Lust, greed, and anger are cousins. When the heart is occupied with self-interest, anger is not far behind. Conflicting desires fight and anger comes to settle the dispute. But when self-interest is removed, so is the dispute.

Balance is the safest and quickest way to divine realization. Those who attempt to cultivate a virtuous life without the benefit of meditation, or who develop great will but neglect cultivating surrender, or who spend all their time meditating without serving others, discover great difficulties on the path. The devotee who consciously cultivates balance finds steady progress.
