Sorrow and desire are married. When desire leaves, sorrow cannot remain. We often cling to desire, thinking it will lead us to happiness, without realizing that it brings sorrow with it.

We are used to moving from the fulfillment of one desire to the next. It seems nearly impossible to imagine a life free from desire. But this is an excellent place to begin. Imagine what it would be like to be free of want, to live in the spontaneous flow of what is.
