When consciousness abides primarily in the senses, our life energy is dissipated in sensory stimulation, the stirring of mental activity, and the pursuit of desires. Monday 11/24/2014 Happiness and sorrow are both reflections of internal states. Nothing outside of us can cause these. If things, people, or situations could cause happiness or sorrow, then everyone would perceive it the same way, but what brings happiness to one person may bring sorrow to another. Ellen Grace O'Brian
