Doing sadhana is like carrying a lamp into the dark night of our unconscious life. It reveals what is already there. It's easier to ignore the clutter of self-will and attachments that collect in our life if we do not bring the light to them. Once we see what is there, we can begin a new way of living.

Renunciation does not require renouncing the world or our duties in it. The abode of the true renunciate is the cave of the heart. Everything that is done with nonattachment and love for God in our hearts is renunciation.
