YES yoga teacher training classes will be held at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment in San Jose, easily accessible by Hwy 880 at the Alameda. CSE is located at 1146 University Ave. at the Alameda. To view the Center or for directions, go to www.CSEcenter.org.

Tuition covers the cost of program instruction. Students are responsible for any additional expenses such as books, props and teaching practicum fees.

Prerequisites:

A minimum of 3 years regular practice of hatha yoga or approval of YES director is required. Ongoing study with a teacher on a weekly or monthly basis is highly recommended. An ongoing daily meditation practice is also strongly encouraged.

YOGA TEACHER TRAINING FACULTY

Joyce Anue MS, PT is the director and founder of YES Yoga Educational Seminars and is the main instructor for the YES Yoga Teacher Training Program. Joyce has taught yoga for 25 years and has been involved with yoga teacher education since 1996. She is a knowledgeable and dynamic instructor, precise in her language and compassionate in her touch. Joyce is an Iyengar trained instructor, a registered physical therapist, & a long-time student of Vipassana meditation. Her teaching style is eclectic and blends elements from the viniyoga tradition of TKV Desikachar with principles of alignment from the Iyengar system. Her work reflects a strong grounding in movement science and anatomy while incorporating more philosophic and psychospiritual aspects of yoga. Joyce is perhaps best known for her skill in the therapeutic application of yoga and her infectious laugh.

The training includes a Master Class on the Yoga Sutra with Rev. Ellen Grace O’Brian,MA, the founder and spiritual director of the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment. Rev. O’Brian has been practicing and sharing the teachings of yoga for over 25 years.

Rev. Sundari Jensen offers teachings on meditation, ethics and yoga philosophy. Sundari has been studying and practicing yoga philosophy for over 15 years. She serves as dean and core faculty with Meru Seminary at the CSE and as adjunct faculty with JFK University.
