-Yoga Sutra 1.2
Seekers who yearn for a clear, concise, direct teaching regarding
spiritual practice will find Patanjali's Yoga Sutra to be
an invaluable guide
to happiness, freedom, and peace. The terrain explored in the Sutras
is none other than our own mind and consciousness. The goal of that
exploration is an enlightened understanding of the soul, the human
psyche, and the means for transforming our personality and character.
Patanjali's Yoga Sutra is an essential text for studying
the way of spiritual awakening through Yoga (union with the Divine
Self). Compiled from the vast reservoir of Vedic wisdom, the 195
concise aphorisms elicit inner wisdom as one contemplates their
meaning and practices the methodology. The four sections of the
Yoga Sutra are:
- The Cultivation of Pure Awareness
- The Path or Way (including the eight limbs of practice)
- Soul Powers
- Spiritual Liberation
To facilitate the exploration of the Sutras, the Center holds
a class titled The Cultivation of Pure Awareness.
Each class includes devotional chanting, meditation, study, and
