The Path of Kriya Yoga
Devotees
who know of the reality of God easily renounce attachments and aversions,
are self-disciplined, practice meditation with concentrated attention,
and merge their awareness in God.
-Sri Yukteswar
Kriya Yoga is a way to sanctify life. It is a spiritual path that
restores awareness and wholeness and allows us to fulfill our soul's
destiny.
Self-realization
is awakening to the truth of our spiritual nature. The method of
spiritual awakening taught at CSE has its origins in ancient Vedic
philosophy and the disciplines of Kriya Yoga. Yoga is a Sanskrit
word meaning "union" or "to yoke" and it signifies
the union of soul and Spirit, the individual self with the larger
true Self, or God. Kriya means "action" or specifically
in this context, actions intended "to purify" or "sanctify."
Kriya Yoga is the course of action or spiritual practices that support
realization of our oneness with God. It is a way to live a spiritually
balanced, wholesome life in harmony with God's will. Yoga is a spiritual
path, not a religion. It is a way of spiritual awakening that can
be used by seekers of all religions.
The Center offers a Path of Kriya Yoga class once every one or
two years. It includes instruction and practices in the Kriya
Yoga tradition with a review of Kriya Yoga philosophy, meditation
and lifestyle routine, core scriptures pertaining to Kriya Yoga,
and the path of discipleship. This class is open to students who
have completed the following preparatory courses:
For the Path of Kriya Yoga class, preregistration and a commitment
