Family Events at the Center
Environment
is stronger than will power.
- Sri Yukteswar
The Center supports Youth and Family with a flourishing ministry
focused on this important aspect of our lives. Two very special
opportunities to share community in the Youth and Family program
include these regularly held programs below.
Sacred Ties
Sharing our Spiritual Practice
as a Family.
Paramahansa Yogananda has shared his teacher’s words many times
about the importance of having an environment that supports spiritual
awakening. How many times have we ourselves fallen prey to "peer
pressure" while a growing teen, as a college student, or
in or adult work environment? Even with the best of intentions
we can let our spiritual practice fade into the background if
we do not create an environment that strongly supports and celebrates
this in our life. Our children are as hungry for sharing in spiritual
connection with their families as we are. The depth of this spiritual
connection that many of us begin sharing with one another each
Sunday can be deeply enhanced by developing a simple and consistent
time of family practice throughout each week. This two-hour
experience will provide a template for bringing our weekly family
spiritual practice to life. Our afternoon is specifically designed
to encourage participation of all family membersregardless
of agein spiritually centered activities that are fun, uplifting,
and connecting. We will share in a time of prayer and meditation,
hatha yoga, storytelling, and sharing. Please preregister all
members of your family and come prepared to be renewed. Free will
offering.
Sharing the Journey
Meeting other Families on the Path
Come with your entire family, invite friends and neighbors, and
join other CSE families for a celebratory evening of singing,
crafting, moving, and sharing as our YSE youth lead us in an informational
evening about our Center’s Youth Spiritual Education program.
Bring your questions, comments, visions for future possibilitiesand
a vegetarian potluck dish to share with others.
For information on schedules for all youth and family related
events at the Center, visit the Youth
and Family section of our Center Calendar.
