A Tour of CSE in San Jose

Welcome to CSE.  While most of this Web site describes the Center's services and opportunities for community, we also wanted to provide you with a visual presentation of our World Headquarters location in San Jose, fondly known to our local community as the "Oasis in the valley."

The San Jose property occupies a full half block along University Avenue on the corner of The Alameda in downtown San Jose.
Our main entrance on University is the home of our administration offices and meditation chapel, nestled amid numerous palm trees.
On the Morse Street end of our property you will find our labyrinth which has been modeled after the design of the labyrinth found in Chartres Cathedral in France.
Further toward the center of the property is our community courtyard and the Tree of Life bookshop.
Adjacent to the courtyard is the meditation garden.
Part of the meditation garden closest to our Youth Spiritual Education classrooms is a section of the garden containing a statue of Quan Yin and child.
Another view of the meditation garden with the community assembly gong behind the fountain.
The Daily Inspiration chalk board is a prominent feature of the meditation garden.  On this chalk board is written the same daily inspiration found also on this Web site.
At the rear of the meditation garden is our Temple of the Eternal Way.
A feature of the Temple is a large, live Australian Pine Tree growing inside near the altar and through the roof.
Just inside the entrance to the Temple is our photo and image wall dedicated to the saints and great spiritual teachers of history.
Occasionally on a Sunday, the children will join the adults in the Temple for the readings of the day.  Here Rev. O'Brian reads to the children gathered at the altar a brief story attuned with the message of the day.
Our Education Building houses our Youth Spiritual Education program and many of our adult education classes and events.
Pictured here is the altar in one of our five Youth Education classrooms, this one for the 9-12 age group.

Our Tree of Life bookshop contains a wide variety of publications from many spiritual traditions.
Also carried in the bookshop are music, chants, and accessories to support spiritual practice.
